The Sandero is regularly the cheapest new car on the market, and that position carries straight over second-hand: it is one of the lowest entry points for a recent, dependable car.
Equipment is deliberately sparse, the mechanicals proven and shared with Renault, often a generation behind. That is precisely what keeps servicing simple and cheap.
Of the 41 used Dacia Sandero listed right now: 76% are petrol. 90% have manual transmission. Half are priced under €10,000.
The second generation, from 2012 to 2020, makes up a large share of the offer and remains extremely affordable.
The third generation, from 2020, gains markedly in finish and equipment while keeping the pricing position.
The Stepway, a raised version with body protection, accounts for a large share of listings and resells better than the standard Sandero.
Check that what matters to you is there rather than assuming it: on entry trims, air conditioning and cruise control may be absent.
On factory LPG versions, check the date of the tank's last recertification.
On a car used in town, check the clutch, which the odometer reflects poorly.
A service history, even an incomplete one, is worth more than a verbal promise at this price level.
